Life of a Linguist: The Blog

Welcome to my life as a linguist

My name is Ana Paola, but you can call me Paola. I am a linguist and I love all things linguistics related. I'm currently working as an interpreter, translator and language teacher, but I'm also very interested in research and I recently finished my master's thesis about chat communication and its linguistic characteristics.

I'm also interested in language learning and am a passionate learner myself. I speak Spanish, German and English fluently, also French at intermediate level, Italian at beginner level, and I'm trying to learn Portuguese, Japanese and Arabic (emphasis on the trying to).

But like every human being, there is more than just that one thing in my life. I really like notebooks and Bullet Journalling, tea of all kinds, reading, writing, and I have strong feelings about the environment and human rights. I really like traveling and hope to be able to start traveling again soon. Come along if any or all of these interest you! I will be posting about my jobs and life as a linguist, but also my life as a woman, as a Mexican, and generally as a human being.
